Mini cooper Serpentine Belt Tool includes the special wrench required to retract the serpentine belt tensioner when removing/installing the accessory drive belt.

Application Make:

• R53 Mini Cooper Supercharged Hatchback (2002 – 2006)
• R52 Mini Cooper Supercharged Convertibles (2007-2008)
• Extra-long (26″ / 66cm) handled tool with special jaws relieves tension on belt tensioner for poly-ribbed belt service
• Includes locking pin for tensioner

To retract the belt tensioner on the Cooper, place the forks of the belt tool over the ear of the tensioner and press the tensioner back until you can insert the locking pin into the hole on the side of the tensioner . Once in place, you can let the tension off the belt tool and the tensioner is locked. You can now remove the belt.
